     When she first came into our lives, our future princess was definitely a pauper. She was matted, urine stained, and bald on her neck because her brothers, with whom she was still caged,  pulled her hair out as their hormones kicked in. She hadn't been handled much and was uncertain about everything.
 
     By the second month she was far bolder, her mats were gone, and her coat was beginning to grow back in. She was growing used to (and beginning to demand) attention and being petted. Her transition to princess was well under way.
